OVERVIEW

VNU350 Project is one of initiatives of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) to achieve the vision of becoming a leading university in Asia, nurturing talents, advancing knowldege, and enriching Vienamese culture. The project aims at attracting, retaining, and nurturing 350 outstanding young scientists and top scholars, herein referred as "Young Talents" and "Top Scholars", in various fields during the period 2024-2030.

The VNU350 Project is implemented based on the following principles:

  • Ensuring alignment with the Party's direction, state regulations, the development strategy of VNUHCM, and the practical needs of its member and affiliated institutions.
  • Conducting activities openly, transparently, fairly, objectively, with quality and efficiency; selecting individuals with the requisite qualities and capabilities to meet the requirements of the recruited positions, as well as the conditions of the remuneration policy.
  • Involving a joint commitment among the three stakeholders: VNUHCM - the Member or Affiliated Institution - the Scientists.

REMUNERATION POLICY

Young Talents and Top Scholars participating in the VNU350 Project will benefit from the remuneration policies of VNU-HCM and of the recruiting insitution which he or she will work with. This section describes the remuneration policy of VNUHCM.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

Outstanding young scientists and distinguished scholars who fulfill the recruitment criteria are eligible to apply for a position within the VNU350 Project.

  • Hold a Ph.D. degree. Preference will be given to candidates with academic titles and expertise relevant to the recruiting positions, along with experience and work abroad.
  • Uphold the core values of VNU-HCM: Excellence, Pioneering, Integrity, Responsibility, Community.. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach, conduct independent research, and possess aspirations to contribute to the development of VNUHCM and higher education in Vietnam in general.
  • Candidates applying for a position within the VNU350 Project must be prepared to accept the offers upon successful recruitment notification.

For Young Talents, applicants must meet one of the following four criteria:

(1) Have published scientific papers in reputable journals or conferences.

(2) Hold successful patents or inventions.

(3) Have experience in transferring scientific products or technologies.

(4) Propose new research directions aligned with VNUHCM's development strategy.

For Top Scholars, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Experienced and capable:

(1) Demonstrate experience and capabilities in leading a research group or laboratory.

(2) Have led research projects.

(3) Possess a record of published works in reputable scientific journals or own exclusive patents.

(4) Show competency in both teaching and research supervision.

(5) Have established relationships and collaborations both domestically and internationally (serving as a member of international scientific and technological organizations, member of the organizing commitee of international conferences and workshops, editor or reviewer for international scientific journals).

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

APPLICATION PACKAGE

Candidates must assemble a comprehensive portfolio of competencies, comprising the following components:

  • Letter of intent.
  • Reference letter from previous employer or recommendation letter(s) from reputable supervisor or experts.

  • Scientific biography; (utilizing the provided template DOWNLOAD);
  • Personal action plan for the next five years if selected.
  • Research project proposal (utilizing the provided template DOWNLOAD);
  • Supporting documentation showcasing qualifications, work experience, and pertinent achievements relevant to the desired positions.

APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Candidates prepare documents and send them to VNU-HCM before September 30, 2024 via one of two methods: 

If the field of interest for the applicant is not listed in the recruitment categories of any instututions, the candidate may submit their application directly to VNU-HCM.

Candidates can submit applications directly at the unit and register to participate in the VNU350 Program of VNU-HCM.

Each candidate is permitted to apply for only one position at a single institution that aligns well with their expertise, experience, and capabilities. Application documents will not be returned.

Note: Candidates bear full responsibility for the legality and accuracy of their submitted documents. Any instances of false information or document forgery will lead to the invalidation of results and may result in legal consequences.

VNU-HCM will announce the results within 30 working days from the last day of receiving applications.
